       Profile

My midwife journey has lead me to discover that being a midwife is so much more than simply attending birth.  As a midwifery student I had the privilege to learn from other passionate midwives the power of an ‘undisturbed birth’ and sharing of birthing knowledge to better support women.

The wisdom of my ‘birth sisters’ has enabled me to pave the way for the birth of my 2 boys, Oliver and Jamieson.  Oliver was born in a Melbourne ‘family birth centre’ and Jamieson was born at home in the UK.

Both choices allowed me to rest in the knowledge that my caregivers and chosen place of birth would allow me to reach my full birthing potential.  My own birth experiences have instilled in me a deep need to ensure that women into the future are able make similar empowered birth choices.

My heart’s desire is to journey alongside women, encouraging them to be active participants in their pregnancy and birthing choices; connecting women with their inner strength to birth well.

No matter what the outcome, I strive to provide supportive and evidence-based care so that women and their families can arise from their childbearing experience feeling, strong, empowered and proud of the choices they have made.

I have learnt as a midwife that to truly be ‘with woman’ I must stand strong and courageous is the face of birth, ensuring that birth is infused with care, knowledge and strength rather than fear.

I provide homebirth and hospital support for women in the outer southern suburbs of Melbourne, South Gippsland and Mornington Peninsula.  I am also a qualified lactation consultant and able to provide post-birth and breastfeeding support.
